Steps for adding and subtracting Decimals

Don't forget to STACK your decimals and add zeros when needed.

Steps to Adding (And Subtracting) Fractions

• If the denominators are the same, add the numerators and simplify.

• If the denominators are different (unlike), find the LCD of both numbers, multiply the fractions, add, and then simplify.

Adding Integers Review

• If the signs are the same, add as normal and keep the sign.

• If the signs are different, subtract and take the sign of the bigger absolute value.

Subtracting Rules

• Keep - Keep the first integer the same.

• Change - The subtraction sign changes to an addition sign

• Change - The second integer changes to its opposite.

• Then add using addition rules.
