When the Earth, Moon and Sun fall in a straight line.
Tides caused by the gravitation pull of the moon.
Rotation of the Moon around the Earth that causes shadow on the Moon.

WHAT ARE MOON PHASES?
The rotation of the Moon around the orbit of the Earth causes the sun to strike light on different areas. The different arrangements of the Sun, Moon and Earth is what causes these phases of the Moon. There are 8 major Moon phases namely:
- New Moon
- Waxing Crescent
- First Quarter
- Waxing Gibbous
- Full Moon
- Waning Gibbous
- Third Quarter
- Waning Crescent

WHAT CAUSES LUNAR TIDES?
The Sun's gravitational pull.
The Moon rocks on the Earth.
The Moon's Gravitational Pull.
A piece of the sky falling.
11
WHAT CAUSES LUNAR TIDES?
The Moon's gravitational force generates something called a tidal force. The tidal force causes Earth and its water to bulge on the side closest to the moon and sides furthest from the moon. Each day, your part of the Earth travels across each of these bulges as the Earth rotates. A high tide occurs when you're in one of the bulges. A low tide occurs when you are not in one of the bulges. On most days, this cycle of two high tides and two low tides happens along most of the world's coastlines.
