Both terms "Hispanic" and "Latino" refer to ethnicity, culture, and identity. They are groups based on shared culture rather than skin color, race, or other physical features.
Though people use them interchangeably, these terms are very different.

Hispanic refers to Spanish-speaking people, and as well as someone with a Spanish-speaking country background, though they do not speak the ancestors' language.
In contrast Latino refers to geography, part of north America, Latin America: Central America, South America, and the Caribbean (Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Dominican Republic), and may be White, Black, Indigenous, Asian, etc.
