​Wrath & Mercy in Salvation

​Salvation is one example where God was both wrathful and merciful at the same time.

​

​God's wrath is for all sinners. Romans 3:23 says that every person is a sinner. That's why God has to save all of us from His wrath.

​

​His solution was to put all of His wrath on Jesus so that He could put all of His mercy on us.

​This is the gospel.

​Back to the memory verse.

​Foreknowledge: God the Father knew and decided ahead of time that He would make a way to be saved.

​

​Sprinkling of blood: The way we are saved is through God the Son dying on the cross. Hebrews 9:22 says that their is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. What Jesus did was called justification.

​

​Sanctification: Because of what Jesus did to save us, He could give us the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) to make us holy.
