What is a republic?
In a republic, citizens, or people are the ones who choose their leaders through elections. They can choose their leaders directly through elections or they can choose representatives who choose the leader.
A republic is a government system that allows people to elect/choose their president.
The representatives are also responsible for making laws.
The elected representatives are named as "Parliament Members" such as in UK. This body of representatives are called ""Congress"" in USA
In some countries leaders or presidents are having a lot of political powers.
In other countries, they don't but they are important in legal system.
A president rules for a limited time then people/citizens can choose another one.S
