What are they?

Phrasal verbs are phrases that indicate actions. They are generally used in spoken English and informal texts.

​Phrasal verbs consist of a verb and a preposition or an adverb

​

• ​STAND UP

• ​WRITE DOWN

• ​GET UP

• ​

​

Sometimes, the preposition/adverb is placed either after the verb or after the object.

​

• ​Mary made a story up.

​

​If the object is a pronoun, however, the preposition/adverb has to be placed after the pronoun (object).

​

• ​ She made it up

​FACT

​It is anything that was done or that happened, that really exists, a strictly true and real statement.

​

A fact is supported by real evidence.

​"The Gioconda is also the last great work of Da Vinci. After finishing the painting, Leonardo took his work to Rome and then to France, where he kept it until his death."

​OPINION

​It is defined as a point of view, a belief, a judgment that has been created in relation to something, an event, a person, a situation.

​

​Depending on the source it comes from, it can be very reliable.

​
