​Series Circuits

• A series circuit is that there is only one path for current to flow. ​

• In this circuit, the current flows in a clockwise direction, from point 1 to point 2 to point 3 and back around to 1.

​1. the current in the circuit is constant.

Current in all parts of the circuit is the same.

​2. The total voltage in the circuit is equal to the sum of the individual voltages across the components of the circuits

​3. The total resistance in a series circuit is equal to the sum of the individual resistances

​Parallel Circuit Rules

​1. The voltage across all the branches is the same in each branch

​

​VT= V1= V2= V3...........

​VT= 220 V

​The amount of current passing through each resistor depends on its resistance
