Possessive Case
The possessive case of a noun or a pronoun shows ownership or possession.
EXAMPLES
Jorge’s calculator has a solar battery.
Pam’s aunt is a plumber.

To form the possessive of most singular nouns,
add an apostrophe and an s.
EXAMPLES
Barbara’s house one boy’s uniform
a week’s salary that stereo’s speakers

To form the possessive case of a plural noun ending in s, add
only the apostrophe.
EXAMPLES
cats’ owners cities’ problems
coaches’ records princesses’ duties

The few plural nouns that do not end in s form the possessive case
