PRONUNCIATION OF -ED
* Rule 1: most regular verbs ð add ‘-ed’
(E.g: watch ð watched, look ð looked, …)
* Rule 2: a regular verb ending with ‘e’ ð add ‘-d’
(E.g: smile ð smiled, like ð liked, …)
* Rule 3: a regular verb ending with ‘consonant + y’ ð take off ‘y’, add ‘-ied’ (E.g: cry ð cried, carry ð carried, …)
* Rule 4: a regular verb ending with ‘vowel + y,w,h,x’ ð add ‘-ed’
E.g: play ð played, follow ð followed, box ð boxed …
* Rule 5: a regular verb ending with ‘CVC’
ð double the consonant, add ‘-ed’ (E.g: stop ð stopped, jog ð jogged, …)
