Remember that we usually stress the important words in a sentence

(the ones that carry important information), and say the other words less strongly, e.g. Where are you from? What do you do?

​In pairs, ask and answer the questions. Can you find at least one thing from each section which you have in common?

​Ask different students the first question until somebody says yes.

​

Then ask the follow-up question. The student who says yes will continue with the other questions, asking different students.

10,500 = ten thousand five hundred

• ​of the use of the hyphen, e.g. twenty-one

• of the use of and, e.g. a hundred and twenty

• that you can say a hundred or one hundred
