​One faithful day when sonic team was making S2

​Someone decided to make a robotic sonic sketch and his co-worker found it and gave it to his boss. He thought it was an amazing sketch and decided to maybe add it to the game. They made it the second final boss in the death egg zone

​Soon after

​Sonic team started on sonic cd and decided to put the robot sonic from s2 currently called "silver sonic" and for cd recreate it as "metal sonic".

​And yes the names are important.

• ​Since the sonic series was doing so well since metal joined they recreated him again as "mecha sonic" for sonic 3 and sonic&knuckles

​Soon again

​For the spinoff knuckles chaotics they decided to stick with the cd design of "metal sonic"

​They used the

​metal sonic design giving him the nickname metal until sonic heroes when they decided they wanted metal for the antagonist(main villain) calling him........neo metal sonic. He's also my favorite. They changed him back to metal sonic after the game.

​Yep this is all i could really find.Hope you guys liked all the info and i might make a second for all the other metal sonics (from the comics and stuff) since i only did the ones from the games. Seeya next time! =3
