• ​REDUCE/SIMPLIFY IF NEEDED

​Adding Rational Numbers

• ​SAME SIGNS: Add and keep that sign. ​

• ​Different Signs: Subtract and take the sign of the larger number.​

​Subtracting Rational Numbers

• ​Leave the first number alone. Change all subtraction signs to addition. Change the sign of the number that follows.
