• We have all learned the whole numbers side of the number line but have we learned the negative. Negative numbers are the duplicate for whole numbers the difference if that negative numbers is that all negative numbers and multiplied my negative one to give it a negative factor.

​when looking at the question above what comes to mind? did you just subtract the two did you add? Here is rule number one for subtracting integers. Subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive. one more thing when subtracting or adding same signs our answer will be that sign.

​What do you do when adding does the same apply? it does not there is a different rule to follow when adding integers. Rule 2. Adding a negative is the same as subtracting a positive. what that means is you do 18- 23 instead of 18+23 so what is the answer? you will have to figure that out yourself.
