​Declarative Sentence

This type of sentence makes a statement . It begins with a capital letter and ends with a period. All facts are declarative sentences. 

Example

  • Everyone has one birthday a year.

  • The dog ate its food and is now sleeping.

​Interrogative Sentence

›This type of sentence asks a question. It begins with a capital letter and ends with a question mark.

Example:

Have you played the latest Fortnite?

Could you please accompany me to Half Way Tree?

›An exclamatory sentence makes a statement that conveys strong emotion or excitement.

Example:

  • Happy Birthday Carl!

  • Strawberry Ice-cream is my favourite!

  • I hate you!
