​A conversation that a character has inside their head; a stream of consciousness that no one else around them can hear except for the audience.

​Soliloquy

​a speech one character makes aloud to themselves, while no other main characters are around, in order to give insight to the audience

​Aside

​Also known as "breaking the forth wall", when a character interupts the scene to speak directly to the audience
