​Places

​What is a place?

​A place is a basic unit of study for geography.

​It can be labelled in several different ways.

​

​1. A place where people live. e.g. houses, apartments and buildings.

​Each level is a more extensive collection of sites.

​

​​2. A place can be a nature-made thing like the Grand Canyon and Mount Everest or a man-made thing like the Pyramids.

​3. Each place has a boundary. A Boundary is a line, visible or invisible, that marks the outer edge of something.
