Przysłówek (adverb) to słowo, które modyfikuje (opisuje):
czasownik - She sings loudly.
przymiotnik - absolutely wonderful
przysłówek- She was driving extremely slowly.
całe zdanie - Fortunately, I brought an umbrella.
3
Tworzenie przysłówków w języku angielskim:
W większości wypadków, aby utworzyć przysłówek wystarczy dodać końcówkę -ly do przymiotnika.
calm – calmly
careful – carefully
poor- poorly
Jeśli przymiotnik zakończony jest na -y to wówczas zamieniamy -y na -i oraz dodajemy -ly
angry – angrily
busy – busily
easy – easily
4
Niektóre słowa zachowują tę samą formę zarówno w przymiotniku, jak i przysłówku.
hard- hard hardly
late- late lately
early-early
fast- fast
near- near nearly
UWAGA na wyjątek- good- well
5
Przysłówki częstotliwości: adverbs of frequency
always, never, often, sometimes, usually, seldom, never
Przysłówki częstotliwości używamy, gdy chcemy powiedzieć jak często coś się zdarza. Często występują w zdaniach w czasie Present Simple, gdy mowa jest o powtarzających się czynnościach. Przysłówki częstotliwości zwykle stawiamy w środku zdania, pomiędzy podmiotem a czasownikiem głównym.
He often goes to the cinema.
