Like the media, individuals are also able to transmit ideas, feelings, and emotions in the communicative process. People have an important role to play in the communication process and one key quality to have is personal influence.
If we are to reexamine the meaning of the word medium in the context of communication, it refers to the “means or channels of general communication, information, or entertainment.”

Commonalities:
Both are people media which means they are involved in the use, analysis, evaluation and production of media and information. Both are people who provide information.
Differences:
People in media are media practitioners which means they are media-related professionals while people as media are not media practitioners but rather media users.
