Forming the greatest and the smallest 3 digit numbers

let us form the greatest 3 digit number using the digits 2, 3 and 7. Arrange them in descending order: 7, 3 and 2. thus, 732 is the greatest number that can be formed using these digits. Let us form the smallest number using the digits 3, 0 and 4. Arrange them in ascending order: 0, 3 and 4. but we cannot form the smallest 3 digit number if 0 is placed as the first digit from the left, because in that case the number formed will be a 2 digit number. So place a 0 as the second digit. Thus, 304 is the smallest number that can be formed using these three digits.
