​Idafa construction (الإضافة) is a construction of 2 nouns.

​The first noun is indefinite, e.g. (بَيْت) “house”

​The second noun is usually definite, e.g. (الجدة) “the grandmother”

​بَيْت الجدة

​the house of the grandmother/grandmother's house

​The first noun is presented as one that belongs to or that is specific to the second one.

​Another type iDafa:

​Possessive Pronouns:

​My house بَيتي

​your uncle (masc.) عَمكَ

​your uncle (fem.) عَمكِ

​Complex iDafa:

​two iDafa constructions:

​my grandmother جدتي (iDafa 1)

​grandmother's house بَيْت الجدة (iDafa 2)

​my grandmother's house بيت جدتي (two iDafa constructions)
