The Inuit

The Inuit were located in North America,

just like the Mound Builders. They found home in Alaska and up into Canada. They have been called "Eskimos" but that name was very offensive and they preferred to be called The Inuit. They adapted to the cold weather by building houses of bricks of snow, called Igloos.

The Inuit

Sometimes, the Inuit became unsafe where they were staying due to the climate. They needed to relocate and could only use waterways. The Inuit invented kayaks. They built kayaks from a driftwood or whalebone framework and stretched across it sea lion skins and made them waterproof with whale fat. The kayaks and the igloos were two ways that the Inuits used their natural resources for survival.

For food, the Inuit hunted whale, walrus, and seal.
