What is a simple sentence?​

  • A simple sentence has only one independent clause which contains a subject (S) and a verb (V).

  • It may have more than one subject and more than a verb.

1. We bought tickets to the hockey game. (one subject, one verb)

COMPOUND SENTENCES

  • A compound sentence has two or more independent clauses joined by a conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so).
