Have you ever heard of the story of the carrot and the stick? [pg. 2]

The story is about a rider trying to get a donkey to go where he wants him to.

The rider found out that the best way to move the donkey is to put a carrot in front of him and jab him with a stick from behind.

The carrot is a reward for moving while the stick is the punishment for not moving and hence making him move by force.
