​What is Simple Present?

​The simple present is a verb tense with three main uses. We use this tense for an action that is happening right now, a general fact, or a habit.

In verbal sentences we only use the s/es at the end of a verb for singular subject He, She, It. The use of s/es has its rules too.​

• We use s for most verbs, but for verbs that end with o, ch, sh, th, gh, or z we use es

• ​For verbs that end with y, we use ies.

​In nominal sentences we use the auxiliary depending on the subject.
