Teaching Point

"Today I want to teach you that, you can figure out what a character is feeling or learn about what kind of person a character is by relying on what you know about people in real life. First, pay attention to text clues about the character. Then think, "What do I already know about people like this?" This is your background knowledge. Finally, state an inference- something that's no EXPLICITLY said but you can figure out by adding the clues and background knowledge together.
