When the Leaves Fall
Autumn is the season that comes between summer and winter. In much of North America, autumn weather begins in late September and lasts until late November. The days grow shorter and the nights get cooler. You might start to feel a cold draft from an open window. The mercury in outdoor thermometers begins to fall, and in the morning you will sometimes find lines of frost etched on leaves and windows. Read The Stranger to find out about an autumn that doesn't quite follow the rules.
Animals that are normally timid leave their homes to gather food for the winter.
