What is Simple Past Tense?

​Simple past tense adalah kalimat tenses yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian yang terjadi di masa lampau dan telah berakhir di masa lampau.

Sentence Patterns

Pola kalimat simple past tense terbagi menjadi 2 rumus, yaitu

verbal simple past tense, dan

nominal simple past tense.

Verbal Simple Past Tense

(+) positive : Subject + Verb2

Verb 2 hanya digunakan pada kalimat positive

(-) negative : Subject + did not + verb1

(?) questions : did + Subject + verb1 ?

Contoh : (+) He went to school yesterday

(-) He didn't go to school yesterday

(?) Did he go to school yesterday ?

Nominal Simple Past Tense

(+) positive : Subject + was/were+ adjective/adverb
