What we have learned so far:
Lines of latitudes are imaginary lines surrounding the globe, from east to west.
Lines of longitudes are imaginary lines up between the Arctic and the Antarctic stretching from north to south.
The equator, a line that divides the globe into two halves, the northern half and the southern half.

Longitudes and latitudes
By Ms.Hafsa
Unit 3, Lesson 3
Objectives:
To conclude the Importance of latitudes and longitudes in the GPS.
To infer the relationship between latitudes and climates' variation.
3
Longitudes are vertical lines extending from the North Pole to the South Pole.
Latitudes are horizontal lines extending from west to east.
These lines intersect at perpendicular angles.
Each of these lines has a specific degree, and when combined, they are accurate and significant coordinates in determining any location on the globe.

If you know the longitudes and latitudes, you can determine the location of any site on the earth's surface through the intersection of these points.
Sometimes we want to determine the absolute location, and we should remember that the state has an extended area and not a specific point.
We must determine the full circle of the state in the north and the far circle in the south. The same thing is to assess longitude from the eastern side and the maximum longitude from the state's western side.
let see the following figure:

Did you know???
With the development of science, there are GPS devices that we can easily work with and through them we can determine your absolute location on the surface of the globe.
GPS
stands for
(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM)
It is a space based navigation system that provides location nd time information in all weather conditions.
8
Now let's watch a video to understand these points and clear up the concept we are learning.
