A verb is a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forms the main part of the predicate of a sentence

Verbs that describe an action

What kid of verbs are there?

Linking verbs

Verbs that serve as a connection between a subject and further information about that subject

​ - Examples: am, is, are, was, has been, have been, will be, appears

What kind of verbs are there?

Helping verbs

Verbs that are used with a main verb to help express the main verb's tense (past, present, future), mood, or voice.

​ - There are 3 main helping verbs:

• To Be: am, is, are, was, were, being, been, will be

• To Have: has, have, had, having, will have

• To Do: does, do, did, will do​
