Placement of subject & object
Subject (often, but not necessarily) goes first.
e.g. Yo como pizza.
However, subject is often dropped when using an object pronoun, implied by the conjugation of the verb.

Placement of direct object
Direct object when using noun (again, often) goes after the verb.
e.g. Yo como pizza.
Direct object when using pronoun (again, often) goes before the verb.
Yo lo como.

Placement of indirect object
Indirect object when using noun (again, often) goes after the verb, & often include the preposition a.
e.g. Yo saludé a la maestra.
Indirect object pronoun (again, often) goes before the verb.
Yo le saludé.

EXCEPTION:
Indirect object pronouns are added on to the end of infinitives & subjunctive verbs giving a (affirmative) command.
e.g. Quiero hablarte de eso.
e.g. Digame lo que pasó.
