PAST TENSE

The past tense is a grammatical tense whose function is to place an action or situation​ in the past. Examples of verbs in the past tense include the english verbs sang, went and washed.

• Billy attended the program

• Alice was practicing in the shows.

• I was practicing on the tennis court.

• Riana was happy to hear the news.

• I was waiting for my friends.

PAST PERFECT TENSE

The past perfect also called the pluperfect, is a verb tense used to talk about actions that were completed before some point in the past. It is for talking about something that happened before something else.

​EXAMPLES OF PAST PERFECT TENSE

• Had written: I had written the email before he apologized.

• Had met: She had met him before the party.

• Had left: The plane had left by the time I got the airport.​
