The weather around us
Weather can be warm, cold, calm, windy, cloudy, sunny or humid. Most weather conditions are caused by the air around us.
If air becomes warm, the weather is warm.
If air moves fast, the weather becomes windy. If air becomes cold, the weather is cold.
If the air has a lot of water vapour, the weather becomes humid. On a humid day, we feel warm and sweat a lot. Places which are close to the sea have humid weather throughout the year.
The weather conditions of a place can change several times on the same day. A sunny day can Change into a cloudy day all of a sudden or calm weather can change into windy weather.

Seasons
There are three main seasons in India-summer, rainy season and winter
Seasons come one after the other. Summer is followed by the rainy season. After the rainy season, winter sets in. When winter is over, summer comes again.
A season lasts for a few months. Summer begins in March and lasts up to the beginning of the rainy season. In summer more heat from the sun reaches the region. The days are sunny and warm. The days are long and nights are short in summer.
5
Seasons
The rainy season is also called monsoon. It begins in May or June and lasts till September. During the monsoon, there is a large amount of water vapour in the air and the weather is humid.
After the monsoon, comes winter. In winter the nights are long and are short. Less heat from the sun reaches the region. This makes the weather cold in winter. Some parts of India become very cold and have snowfall in winter.
