We call the fire station when there is a fire at home or in the neighbourhood. A fire engine is used to put out the fire.

We go to the market to buy fruits and vegetables. We also buy grains, milk, eggs, etc. from the market. These days we go to the supermarket to buy everything we need.

There are times when we fall sick. At such times, we go to the doctor’s clinic or in a hospital.

The police station helps us to keep the neighbourhood safe. We go to the police station to complain about stolen things and about accidents.

​A school is a place where we go to learn to read and write. We play and make friends there too. We also do many other activities in school.

​ The post office helps us to send and receive letters and parcels.

We post our letters in the post box. We can also buy postcards, stamps, envelopes etc from the post office.

​ A bus stop is a place where buses stop. People wait there in queues. Buses help us to reach our destinations. Buses with different numbers stop there.

​ We go to play or walk in the playground or a park. There are many swings and slides there. There are also benches on which people can sit.

A bank is a place to keep our money and other valuables safe. To do that we need a bank account . Now, we can withdraw and deposit money through an ATM machine.

Our neighbourhood must be safe, clean and a friendly place to live in. We must keep it that way.

The area around our home is our neighbourhood. We all like to live in a clean safe and a friendly neighbourhood. We see many places in the neighbourhood like hospital, busstop, school, playground, fire station, post office, bank, market and a police station.
