Deciduous (trees that loses leaves in fall and has fruit) and Conifers (trees that reproduce using cones and has needles. pine trees is a common type of conifer tree). In 1914, Ephraim Portman and Joseph S. Hickman worked to protect the Capitol Reef area as a state park, and later on a national monument. In 1937 President Franklin D. Roosevelt set aside 37,711 acres as Capitol Reef Monument. An act to establish the Capitol Reef National Park became public law when it was signed by President Richard Dixon in December 18, 1971. (I would put changes caused by humans but I couldn't find that info while reasearching.) The original name of Capitol Reef is Wayne Wonderland
