Pengertian Recount Text

Recount Text adalah salah satu jenis teks yang berisi cerita pengalaman kita di masa lampau. Pengertian itu bisa kita ketahui dari namanya saja, yaitu Recount yang bermakna ‘menceritakan kembali’.

Personal Recount  adalah teks yang berisi pengalaman pribadi kita. Contoh singkat yang dapat kita jumpai sehari-hari, yaitu diary (buku harian), jurnal harian, note yang bertuliskan tentang kejadian yang kita alami hari ini atau tweet yang berisi curhatan kita . Itu semua bisa dirangkai menjadi sebuah Recount Text.

Teks recount ditulis untuk menceritakan kembali pengalaman di masa lampau dalam urutan kronologis​

Recount text is written to retell past events or experiences in a chronological order

Generic Structure

• Orientation (introducing sentences)

• Events (series of activities)

• Reorientation (conclusion)

• Orientasi (kalimat perkenalan/pembuka)

• Kejadian (serangkaian aktifitas)

• Reorientasi (kesimpulan)

Language feature

• using first or third person point of view

• written in past tense

• using time sequences (last month, yesterday, ago, etc)

• using conjunction, such as: then, before, after, etc

• menggunakan sudut pandang orang pertama atau orang ketiga

• ditulis dalam past tense

• menggunakan keterangan waktu last moth, yesterday, dll

• menggunakan conjunctio then, before, after, while, when

Struktur teks

• Tittle

  The name of the text that covers what the text is about

• Orientation

  An introducing paragraph briefly covering who, what, when, and where about the events

• Events

  Series of activities written in a chronological order

• Reorientation

  A closing paragraph that covers the conclusion or the ending of the story

I loved spicy food so much. Until three days ago, I got very sick because of it.

​When I was in my lunch break, I ate my favorite meatball and put too much sauce into my meatball. After finished my lunch, my stomach felt like it was on fire. It was too painfull that I left school early. I got fever and a diarrhea for 3 days.

After three days, I got better and I promissed not to eat too much spicy food anymore.
