IS as A verb

IS is a verb used for a noun or pronoun that singular.

Example:

She is my one and only little sister.

She - pronoun | singular

We used the verb "is" since the subject is singular.​

Are as A verb

ARE is used for nouns and pronouns that are plural.

Example:

Paul and i are friends.

Paul and I - noun & pronoun | plural

We used the verb "are" since the subject is plural.

AM as A verb

AM is used with the pronoun.

Example:

I am his girlfriend.

I - pronoun | singular

We used the verb "am" since the subject is singular and automatically when the subject is a pronoun, we use "am" next to it.

-s and -es

​When the noun or subject is singular, we add -s or -es to the base form of the verb.

Example:

Princess keeps her study area clean.

Princess - singular

Keeps - with -s (keep+-s)​

Base form

​When the noun or subject is plural, we use its base form.

Example:

Princess and her brother keep their study area clean.

Princess and her brother - plural

REMEMBER!

​When we show the simple present tense of the verb, we usually use time expressions. These expressions give a signa; that the verb is int the simple present tense.

Examples of these words are every day, daily, and every morning.​
