Argumentative text, or persuasive text, attempts to convince someone to do something, like something, or feel something. It appeals to your logic and emotion.
Example: A dentist argues that you should floss your teeth (to keep your teeth & gums healthy.)
What is Argumentative text?
Parts of an Argumentative Text:
1) A Claim or Opinion (What are they trying to get you to do?)
2) Reason for their Claim
3 & 4) Supporting Details/Evidences/Facts to support their claim (more than one)
5) Opposing Claim (sometimes has the "other side" of an argument
6) Reasons that show weakness of Opposing Claim
7) Conclusion - restates the original Claim or Opinion
