REPORTING STATEMENTS
In statements (affirmative or negative), we use a subordinated "that" clause (The pronoun "that" can be omitted).
Subject + reporting verb + that + reported sentence
She advised that we wouldn't go to the beach if we had bad grades
They told the real state agent that they were buying the house they had seen on Monday
Pete said that he had finished his homework

REPORTING COMMANDS
In commands, we use a TO + infinitive clause where the verb in RS is the head of that clause
Subject + reporting verb + (not) to INF+ rest of elements

REPORTING YES/NO questions
Questions answered using a short answer (yes/no + , + personal pronoun + Auxiliar)
We change them into RS by using a Conditional sentence with IF / WHETHER
Subject + Reporting verb + if / whether + Subject + reported verb + rest
She wanted to know if I liked candy
She asked Linda whether she was happy in that school
My teacher asked me if I had understood the problem

We change them into RS by using a Relative clause with the interrogative as relative pronoun
