Subject and verb

Mr Morton is the subject of the sentence and what the verb says he does.

Predicate - part of a sentence that contains the verb​

Simple past tense

​Simple past tense is used when the action has been done before now.

For example:

Mr Morton ate his dinner.​

Mr Morton said hello to his cat.​
