2 Types of Questions

Yes/ No questions

Additional Information Questions ​

Yes/no questions

• Objective: to find out if someone does the activity or not

• Response includes a yes or no

• NO interrogative word

• Activity is in the the "tú or you form" -as or -es ending

• Example: ¿Bailas conmigo en la fiesta? - No, no bailo.

  • although we have some extra information (a place) the lack of an interrogative word "¿Dónde?" and the "Sí" in the response makes it a yes or no.

Additional Information Questions

• Objective: to SEEK specific information

• Includes an interrogative word

  • ¿Dónde?, ¿Cuándo?, ¿Por qué?, ¿Con quién?, ¿Qué?

• Response does not include a yes or no

• Activity is in the the "tú or you form" -as or -es ending

• Example: ¿Dónde bailas? - Bailo en la fiesta.

  • Response does not have a yes or no

  • We have the interrogative donde which calls for a place
