La mayoría de los nombres de lugar( por ejemplo continentes, países, estados, lagos, montañas, pueblos, calles etc.)

No colocamos el the antes de los siguientes:

• comidas

• días, fechas, festividades publicas, meses y años.

• si usamos this/ next/ last + un dia o un periodo de tiempo más largo. ​

​Casos especiales, en cama, después de comer, cien...

Tampoco se usa el the con lugares y actividades, transporte o expresiones con by. ​
