 The Definition of Descriptive Text​

 Descriptive text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.​

Structure of Descriptive Text​

​ 1. Identification

 This section in the first paragraph - the goal  is to identify something to be described or depicted. Explanation easy, Identification serves to introduce the reader about the object or something that we have described before we tell about its properties.

 2. Description

 This section in the second paragraph and so on - contains the properties inherent in something that you already introduced to the reader in the first paragraph. ​

 Language Features​

​ - Specific participant: has a certain object, is not general and unique, for example: bandengan beach, my house, borobudur temple, uncle Joko

 - Use of adjectives (adjectives) to clarify nouns (nouns), for example: a beautiful beach, a handsome man, the famous place in jepara, etc.

 - Use of simple present tense: It used is the simple present because it tells the facts of the object of description

 - Action verbs: there are verbs that indicate an activity, for example: run, sleep, walk, etc.

​This is my lovely cat, his name is Derris.  I took care of him since he was a kid when I bought it at the animal market.  Derris is currently 9 months old.  My cat belongs to the Persian breed so it has long fur. 

​

Derris has a petite body and a funny face.  Moreover, his activeness makes me want to continue playing with him. Derris grew into a very healthy cat because he always eats regularly so that his body continues to grow.  He has a very beautiful long brown fur, the fur is also very soft and very comfortable to touch. Derris has black eyes with sharp pupils when outdoors.  His eyes will look very cute when he is in the room because his pupils will turn big so he will look like a spoiled and obedient cat.
