Cell Cycle: Mitosis ​

• Chromosomes condense 

• Spindle fibers and Kinetochores emerge from the centrosomes

• Nuclear envelope disappears

Prophase

• Chromosomes are lined up at the metaphase plate

• Sister chromatid is attached to a spindle fiber originating from opposite poles

Metaphase

• Centromeres split in two

• Sister chromatids (now chromosomes) are pulled toward opposite poles

• Spindle fibers begin to elongate the cell

Anaphase

• Chromosomes arrive at opposite poles and begin to decondense

• Nuclear envelope emerge around each set of chromosomes

• Spindle breaks down

Telophase

• Cytoplasm Divides

• Cell membrane pinches together

• Two new cells
