WHAT IS A PRONOUN?​

A PRONOUN takes the place of a noun. ​

Examples:

I am tired. I takes the place of Dr. Bensinger. ​

She is also tired. She takes the place of Mrs. ​Ramsay.

WHAT IS AN ANTECEDENT?​

An antecedent is the noun that the pronoun refers to. ​

Examples:

I am tired. Dr. Bensinger is the antecedent for I.

She is also tired. Mrs. ​Ramsay is the antecedent for she.
