WHAT IS A PRONOUN?
A PRONOUN takes the place of a noun.
Examples:
I am tired. I takes the place of Dr. Bensinger.
She is also tired. She takes the place of Mrs. Ramsay.

WHAT IS AN ANTECEDENT?
An antecedent is the noun that the pronoun refers to.
Examples:
I am tired. Dr. Bensinger is the antecedent for I.
She is also tired. Mrs. Ramsay is the antecedent for she.
