​A terrestrial ecosystem is a land-based community of organisms and the interactions of biotic and abiotic components in a given area. Examples include tundra, taiga, temperate deciduous forest, tropical rain forest, grassland, deserts.

Forest ecosystems are the combination of species, geology, topography, and climate tied together by physical and biotic processes specific to any one site, and most importantly occupied by trees as the dominant vegetation.

Tundra ecosystems are treeless regions found in the Arctic and on the tops of mountains, where the climate is cold and windy, and rainfall is scant. Tundra lands are covered with snow for much of the year, but summer brings bursts of wildflowers.

A grassland is an ecosystem, or place that contains everything certain animals and plants need to survive. Grasslands contain mostly grasses, not trees, shrubs, sand, or water. Grasslands are home to amazing plants, animals, insects, and birds.

Grassland Ecoystem

Desert ecosystem is the driest ecosystem of the earth and this is the reason it has less vegetation and less diversity of life. It is one of the parts of the terrestrial ecosystem. The plants and animals of the desert ecosystem have mastered the art of survival in harsh conditions. A desert ecosystem is basically devoid of any rainfall or precipitation.
