A Culture, an Art Movement, Music, Dance
Created by people living in The Bronx, NY (influence from African Americans, Latino & Caribbean Americans in that population)
Created in 1970s during the "Decade of Fire"

White Flight
beautiful suburb apartments to attract more people to live there, but neighborhood wasn't appealing for people, so the White population fled
Slumlords could not afford the properties, so the building managers would burn down their places to collect the insurance- "Decade of Fire"
If people weren't moving out of the buildings, they shut off amenities
