​There are a number of historical destinations in Nassau including the time-honored buildings, monuments, palaces, and parks where you can learn about the glorious past of Nassau.

The original building of the Christ Church Cathedral was constructed in 1670, giving it the title of the first church built in the Bahamas. The present day building dates back to the 1840’s and its design is famous for depicting the 150 years of struggles that Nassau had to go through until its freedom in 1861.

Fort Charlotte dates back to the 18th century and overlooks the stunning Nassau Harbour. The fort was named after King George III’s wife- Queen Charlotte. The initial stone structure of the fort was built from 1787 to 1819- spanning around 32 years!

Dating back to the late 18th century, Fort Fincastle is named after Viscount Fincastle (also known as lord Dunmore) who constructed this fort to protect the Nassau harbour from pirate attacks.​

The Government House is the official residence of the Governor General of the Bahamas. The pink and white buildings stay true to the Bahamian feel while its stately architecture is an amalgamation of Bahamian-British, Georgian and Colonial architecture.

Placed behind the Supreme Court, the Cenotaph takes the centre stage at the remembrance garden. The minimal monument was constructed as a memorial to the Bahamian people who served the Commonwealth and the British Empire and lost their lives during World War I and II and the four Royal Bahamas Defence Force Marines who lost their lives when the HMBS Flamingo was attacked by a Cuban MIG fighter

Dating back to the 14th Century, this is one of the most intriguing Bahamas landmarks you’ll find. Originally created in France, the buildings of the Cloisters were imported to the Bahamas, brick by brick, in the 1960s, by newspaper baron William Randolph Hearst.

The Queen's Staircase is a walkway of 66 steps (102 feet (31 m) in Nassau, the capital city of The Bahamas. It was carved out of solid limestone rock by 600 slaves between 1793 and 1794 to create an escape route from the fort above^[1] and is a major landmark of Nassau.

This fort consists of four cannons, and it was originally built as a defensive hold by the British, who wanted to see off Spanish invaders in the 18th Century.
