Orientation : Gives the readers the background information

needed to​ understand the text, such as who was

involved, where it happened, and when it happened.

​

Event : A series of events, ordered in a chronogical sequences.​

​

Re- Orientation : A personal comment about the event or what

happened in the end.​

Example of Recount Text

Orientation : I love sweet food, especially ice cream. until one week ago I had a toothache because of sweet food.

​

Event : At night after dinner, I eat my favorite chocolate and ice cream then I felt asleep without brushing my teeth first, the next day, I felt my teeth hurt so bad that i got home from school early. After that I went straight to the doctor and it turned out that my tooth was hollow, I was given medicine by the doctor and immediately rested at home.

​Re-orientation

After three days my condition is improving and I promise ​to eat less sugar foods and I will be more diligent cleaning my tooth before going to bed.
