# 1 Persuade

To persuade the author is trying to get you to do something. Like buying an item, to go outside more, to red more, etc.​ For an example you see a commercial, and that commercial is trying to get you to shop at this store. They are persuading you to go shop at that store.

To inform a reader is you give them evidence and facts. The author is giving the re​ader information about something For and example you are reading book, and that book is bout sharks. In that book the author has given facts and information in the book to inform the reader about sharks.

# 3 Entertain

​For an author to entertain the reader, the author writes about funny or entertaining stories. Most of the time in an entertaining story the author includes dialogue. Dialogue is like people talking to each other, but writen. ex: " You are a good friend." When ever you see dialogue you know it's an entertaining story. An entertaining story also is funny and makes people enjoy it.
