The hotter object is the boiling water, and the colder objects are the spoons and the butter.

The heat from the boiling water will travel to the spoons and then to the butter on the top of each of the spoon.​

Since the metal spoon is a good conductor of heat, the heat will reach the butter faster.​

The water in the bucket has more heat than the water in the cup because of the greater amount of water in the bucket.

Therefore, when the water from the bucket is added to Basin B, more heat travels to the water in the basin, and so the temperature becomes higher.
